Note: This tutorial assumes you have already logged in to your church's SteepleConnect website and have administrator rights to your church. If this is not the case, you must first
create an account and then
email SteepleConnect support requesting administrator permissions. (You must be able to provide valid proof that you are allowed to be an administrator for your church.)
Creating a Sermon
If you are an admin and you are logged in you will see the following image located on the top left of the site right next to the SteepleConnect logo.
Clicking this image will take you to the admin panel so you can make changes to the site. You will now have a new menu. One of your choices will be "Media", click it.
Your side bar will now contain a list of sections within "Media" that you can manage. If "Sermons" is not already selected you will now want to click that.
At this point the main content area should say "Sermons" in the top left, and there should be a button on the right labeled "Add New". Click the "Add New" button, and you should be presented with the following dialog box.
Link is an optional field that will add a shortcut to an external site or another page within the site. Speaker provides a list of people associated with the church, if you don't see the person you are looking for you will need to add them to the church.
Once you have filled out the form click "Save Changes" and a new sermon will appear in the list similar to the following.
Attaching Audio
You are now ready to upload your audio file. Click the "Microphone" icon and you will be asked to choose a file. After doing so click the "Upload" button and your file will upload and be optimized for streaming by the software.
There are some things to note here:
- File size is limited to 60 Megabytes (MB)
- Files will be converted to mp3 if they are not already mp3's
- If a video is uploaded only the audio will remain
Attatching a File
You are now ready to upload your pdf file. Click the "File" icon and you will be asked to choose a file. After doing so click the "Upload" button and your file will upload.
There are some things to note here:
- Currently we only support Portable Document Format (PDF) files.
Note: Need to convert your documents into PDFs? We recommend BullZip which will allow you to virtually print any document to a PDF file. It's a free download
here.
